Patient Policy

iDental Surgery Patient Policy

The Patient authorises the dentist to take x-rays, study models, photographs, and other diagnostic aids deemed appropriate by the dentist to make a thorough diagnosis. The Patient authorises the dentist to perform all recommended treatment mutually agreed upon by The Patient. The Patient agrees to the use of local anaesthetics, sedatives. nitrous oxide and other medication as necessary at the time of treatment.

The Patient agrees to dental treatment recommended by the dentist(s) that they see for treatment and The Patient knows they are able to ask their treating dentist or principal dentist any questions at any time to better understand their treatment needs and options.

Payment On The Day Of Appointment

The Patient agrees to paying for their treatment on the day. If The Patient forgets their health fund card, The Patient knows that they must pay for treatment in full and claim through The Patient’s health fund separately. If The Patient forgets their credit card or wallet/purse, The Patient will pay via direct deposit in the waiting area, through The Patient’s phone or using a practice tablet and email the receipt to the practice immediately after payment. Or, The Patient can dial a friend/family member to pay via credit card on the phone as soon as The Patient’s appointment is complete. If The Patient does not pay by the date stated on the invoice, then The Patient will incur a $5 per week penalty fee. This fee is to cover the cost of the additional administration required to follow up on the late payment. The Patient is also liable to pay for any additional services used to collect The Patient’s late payment including, but not limited to, debt collectors and court fees.

Emergency Visits

Emergency appointments/visits will incur an Emergency Consultation Fee of $96, with the treating Dentist advising cost(s) for additional treatment(s) during that emergency appointment/visit/consultation.

Rescheduling Fee

The Patient agrees to providing a 24 hour minimum notice if The Patient cannot attend or wishes to change The Patient’s appointment day/time or fees will apply. A rescheduling fee of AU$110.00 will apply if The Patient cancels or reschedules their scheduled appointment within 24 hours of their confirmed appointment. A missed appointment or failure to attend a confirmed visit will lead to a fee for rescheduling within 24 hours. If The Patient fails to attend further appointments, a deposit amount will be required prior to securing future appointments.

The iDental Surgery team will endeavour to contact The Patient via various means (SMS, email, phone) to confirm The Patient’s appointment. If The Patient does not confirm their appointment 24 hours prior, we will assume The Patient is not coming and The Patient’s scheduled appointment will be automatically cancelled and have to reschedule. The Patient will need to call iDental Surgery to reschedule and will likely have to pay a holding deposit to secure your next appointment.
